Using the clipboards to Manage Special Orders

You can manage the status of special orders and prescription refills by utilising your hospital clipboards.

For example, you could name them as follows:

• "1. Client - Orders"
• "2. Client – Phone"
• "3. Client – Collect"

Simply admit an animal to the hospital admission list, but select one of your order clipboards instead. Notes entered against the patient record will display in the clipboard. As each stage of the order is processed, you can transfer the request to the next status clipboard.

You may even decide to use a similar approach for repeat prescriptions.

You can add these extra status lists through Main menu > Maintenance module > Maintenance menu > Lookup Lists > Animal Related Lists > Hospitals.

A numbering system will keep them in order. Be careful not to set any of these new clipboards as the default hospital clipboard.
