Removing an analysis group from a group of stock items

When generating the stock list as shown above you can instead click Remove Analysis Groups.

This might be handy if you filter a report by Advantage, only to find that some products should not be included in the search results.

  1. Select the required items, and then click Remove Analysis Group.

Select the analysis group to remove and click OK.

VisionVPM will remove the analysis group from the selected stock items.

Stock Locations

To manage your stock more effectively you can attach a Stock Location to a group of products, enabling you to then process a rolling stock takes on a single Stock Location. Rolling stock takes are discussed further in the chapter on Stock Taking.

For ease of use, VisionVPM allows you to bulk assign or bulk remove stock locations from groups of stock items.

Creating a stock location

Go to: Main menu > Maintenance module > Maintenance menu > Lookup Lists > Stock Related Lists > Stock Locations.

  1. From the Stock Location List window, click Insert.

  2. In the Code field, enter a code for the stock location.
  3. In the Description field, enter a name for the stock location.

Applying a stock location to a group of stock items

The most effective way to apply a stock location to your stock items is through the Stock List.

Go to: Stock module > Reports menu > Stock List.

If you have never assigned a stock location to any of your stock items before, then it is best to simply list all of your stock with no restrictions on the report by selecting All Active Stock Records. Otherwise you can select by Sales Group.

  1. Highlight the relevant values by using a combination of [SHIFT] + [Down Arrow].
  2. Click Update Location.

  3. From the list of stock locations, select the one that will group your stock items together.
  4. Click OK.

Removing a stock location from a group of stock items

Go to: Stock module > Reports menu > Stock List.

  1. From the Stock List window, move the horizontal scroll bar to the right so that the Location column is visible.

  2. Click on the Location column header to sort by location.
  3. Select the stock items where the location is to be removed.
  4. Click Remove Location.
  5. Click Yes to the following prompt:
