Group Discounts

Go to: Stock menu > Discount Groups.

Discount groups allow you to set up across the board discounts. These give you greater control over discounting at a MACRO level.

Discount groups allow you to apply any of the following discounts:

• A discount applied to all clients for all stock items.
• A discount applied to all stock items for selected clients using a client marker.
• A discount applied to all stock items for selected animals using an animal analysis group.
• A discount applied to stock items selected by analysis or sales group.
• Discounts set up as Sales price minus discount percentage.
• Discounts set up as Cost price plus percentage.
• Discounts to apply within a set Date range.

Optional: When you select Incentive discount, this will enable the discount to be reversed if the account is not paid within the current payment terms.

Note: The discount groups work with the existing stock discount system so that the discount offering the lowest price will be applied. Multiple discounts will not be applied. If multiple discounts/discount groups match the client, VisionVPM calculates the best discount and applies it.

When Discount prompt when invoicing is selected, and Cost price plus percentage discount is being used, the following discount window will be displayed on invoicing the product:

Example: Discount Group for Staff

Cost Price + Discount Percentage.

If you are allowing for staff discounts, you will require 2 discount groups:

• One to cover professional fees
• One to cover stock.

Cost plus percentage calculations will only be relevant for inventory.

Example: Discount Group for Pensioners

Sales price minus discount percentage.

Example: Discount Group for a Specific Client Marker by Sales Group

Sale Price minus discount percentage.
