Most stock takes start with a list of stock items and the quantities of each stock item in VisionVPM. Data entry is required only where the amount physically in stock differs from the amount in stock in VisionVPM.
These guidelines will help you approach your stock take systematically and with a minimum of fuss. This system can be used by single clinics (with or without departments and clinics using a Terminal Server solution).
Before you perform your physical stock take, ensure that ALL supplier invoices are entered into VisionVPM up to the date of the stock take.
If you are integrated with Provet e-Order you should check the Pending Invoice List in Suppliers > Provet Options > Open Pending Invoice List and ensure that there are no Provet invoices dated before the stock take date. If there are, you should complete these invoices before you perform the stock take.
Go to: Main menu > Maintenance module> Maintenance menu > System Defaults > Stock tab.
Ensure the Use a zero stocktake check box is not selected. A zero stock take is used where it is known that the stock levels in the system are mostly very inaccurate. It is useful where it is easier to 'start from scratch' rather than to adjust existing levels.
