Go to: Stock menu > Stock Details > select stock item > More Commands > Create Duplicate Stock Record.
Often, new stock items may resemble an existing stock item quite closely. Using a duplicate stock item to insert a new stock item allows the settings of an existing item to be duplicated so that only the information that is different, for example, product code, description, prices, need to be changed.
For example, a different pack size of a food product you already stock could be loaded from a duplicated stock item of a similar pack size. The duplicate stock code is created with a different code to the code of the existing stock item. This should be changed to suit the new stock item.
This change facilitates consistency of setup between similar stock items and will save you time checking the sales and analysis groups the new stock item should be allocated.
The new stock record will be created with a new stock code. The following fields will be populated with information from the existing stock item:
